Skin care tips for glowing skin during the holidays

Skin careGlowing skin for the holidays

Skin care regimens are challenged, if not ignored, during the holiday season. Our hope is to offer some tips and insight that will keep you glowing for your holiday season. Let your family and friends marvel at your youthful appearance by just following a few simple tips. Consider our favorite tips for glowing skin:

  1. Moisturize whenever possible

As we have mentioned before, winter weather can do a lot of damage to your skin. The extremes of cold outside air, and warm inside air, can dry out your skin and lead to itching or rashes. A moisturizing cream will provide much-needed hydration, as well as provide the antioxidants necessary to prevent premature aging.

  1. Watch what you eat

What you put in your body is just as important as what you put on it. It may be next to impossible during the holidays; but try to avoid junk food. Have a discussion with your dermatologist about foods that may be affecting your skin such as gluten or dairy products.

  1. Don’t overlook vitamins and minerals

Ask your dermatologist about vitamins and nutrients that play a big role in glowing skin. Make a conscious effort to incorporate more greens into your diet. Natural and nutritional oils in fish and avocado, or any other essential fatty acids can also contribute to radiant skin.

  1. Exfoliate with fervor

Make sure you are exfoliating regularly. Consult with your dermatologist, but you should exfoliate about three times a week to brighten your skin and to unblock pores. Removing dead skin will allow moisturizing creams to penetrate much deeper.
