Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure using tiny needles to stimulate collagen and elastin production for improved skin texture and firmness.
Microneedling, otherwise known as collagen induction therapy (CIT), is a minimally invasive procedure that uses a device equipped with tiny needles to generate controlled micro-damage on the skin's surface. This micro-damage triggers the body's natural healing system, resulting in enhanced collagen and elastin production.
The benefits of microneedling include:
Diminishes fine lines and wrinkles
Effectively treats strectch marks and scars, including acne scars
Decreases pore size
Enhances overall skin tone and texture
Promotes new collagen for smoother, firmer, toned skin
Noticable results with minimal to zero downtime
Metrolina Dermatology is proud to offer the first dual-indicated FDA-cleared microneedling system for the treatment of both facial wrinkles and acne scar reduction. Clinical studies saw 86% of patients showed significant improvement in acne scars, 90% saw improvement in facial wrinkles, and 78% showed improvement in periorbital wrinkles in just 90 days!
Note: Microneedling is offered in our Park Road location.
What to expect
Microneedling provides skin rejuvenation with minimal downtime. Your skin will appear slightly pink to red immediately following treatment and can be coupled with minimal pin-point bleeding and/or bruising. Sensations of puffiness, warmth, and tightness of the skin is also common following the procedure and can last up to 24 hours. The outcomes are significantly enhanced when combined with a customized skincare routine recommended by our experienced providers at Metrolina Dermatology.
For the optimal results, we suggest a series of 4-6 sessions, each separated by a period of 4 weeks.
